:: Program Fees ::
The Peru program fee is $3,790, which includes housing, meals, development project work, all program-related field trips and excursions, a student health insurance policy, and airport pick-up in Cuzco. Airfare, passport, international student I.D., textbooks, vaccinations, and personal and incidental expenses are not included. In addition to the program fee, students will pay regular tuition and fees to Cal Poly. The total estimated cost of the program, which includes everything listed above, is between $6,000 and $6,500.

All students must enroll in 12 Cal Poly units. Cal Poly tuition varies by college/academic unit.

Additional personal expenses include: non-program-related travel, spending money, laundry, entertainment, gifts, etc. These costs will vary according to individual spending habits.
Students participating in the Peru Study Program, may be eligible for financial aid through Cal Poly. However, students attending summer will have limited eligibility if they borrowed their maximum annual loan amount. The Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) may be a financial aid option.
Note: Eligibility for summer aid is determined after Spring grades are posted. Students are advised to budget wisely throughout the academic year and plan ahead for study abroad costs. Students are encouraged to speak with a Cal Poly Financial Aid Counselor for additional information.
The program deposit of $500 is due no later than March 1, 2008 and is paid to Cal Poly at the cashiers office on the first floor in Building 1. Final payments of the remaining balance, also paid to the cashiers office is due no later than April 1, 2008.
There are three ways that students can pay the deposit and program fees.
- Make a check out to Cal Poly, bring it to the cashiers and bring the receipt to the program office (Bldg. 38 Room 145). Let the cashier know that the money is for the Peru Study Program. Bring the reciept to Peru Study office Bldg. 38 Room 145.
- By eCheck*, go to http://www.afd.calpoly.edu/Student_Accounts/onlinepayments.htm. Select General Payment for your payment. Then email the Tammy Logan in Student Accounts, at talogan@calpoly.edu,with a copy sent to the program director at rleroy@calpoly.edu, and let her know that your payment was for the Peru Study Program. There is no transaction fee for eChecks!
- By credit card* (Sorry, no VISA). Per your request,a charge can be put on your students account and then you can pay by credit card. You will be charged a convenience fee of 2.9%. Please email the program director if you would like a charge placed on your student account.
Should the student withdraw from the program prior to April 1, 2008, student will be refunded all payment less $100 ($75 processing and $25 non refundable application fee) plus any costs incurred by the program up to that point.. If student withdraws from the program on or after April 1, 2008, student will forfeit the entire program deposit ($500) plus any costs incurred by the program up to that point.
